Gymnastics Day E-mail

  • L-sits, accumulate 2 minutes
  • Tuck hold from bar, accumulate 1 min
  • Dips, 3 sets of 10 reps, full ROM
  • Handstand holds, accumulate 2 minutes
  • Toes to Bar, 3 x 10

avatar Gymnastics WOD (and my substitutions)

* L-sits, 2 minutes (just knees)
* Frog stands, 1 min (head on floor)
* Tuck hold from bar, accumulate 1 min (subbed 3X10 k2c)
* Dips, 3 sets of 10 reps, full ROM (blue band)
* Handstand holds, 2 minutes (kick-ups attempts)
* Toes to Bar, 3 x 10 (toes as far as they would go without me swaying wildly...which wasn't far)
* Glute-ham Raises, 3x15 (also very small ROM here)

So there you have it. Nothing quite as Rxd, but done.

avatar So with you on those glute-ham raises. I had a difficult time grasping the concept of keeping my legs straight.

avatar L-sits - First hold was 20 seconds, between 7 - 11 for the rest. Should have recovered longer
Frog Stands - 35 - 20 second reps with knees on elbows.
Tuck Hold - 1 minute
Dips - Blue band with knees in the band to get 10 in a row
Handstand Hold - 1:54 hold, then my ears wouldn't quit ringing
Toes to Bars - Last set was ugly!
Glut-Ham Raises - Didn't really get the hang of them until the last round

I expected today to be hard, but it was still harder than I thought. It was a nice change of pace from the usual, though, and gave me some new things to work on.
